HC Deb 10 May 1956 vol 552 c1387
1. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations the number of persons from Basutoland, the Bechuanaland Protectorate, and Swaziland who are undergoing educational or other courses of training in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or other countries of the Soviet bloc, or China; and how many have undergone such courses since the end of the war.

The Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations (Commander Allan Noble)

The Answer to both parts of the Question is None, Sir.

Mr. Fenner Brockway

Arising out of that Answer, can the hon. and gallant Gentleman tell us the number of scholarships given by this country to students from these territories?

Commander Noble

No, Sir, that is rather a different question.
