§ Mr. J. N. BrowneI am afraid I cannot give a date for the start of building work on this very large project. An architect has, however, been appointed to enable a start to be made on the planning work, which will in itself take several years to complete.
§ Mr. ThomsonIs the Minister aware that his reply is rather staggering? This important hospital has been in the blueprint stage for some years, and it is over twelve months since the Secretary of State announced that definite plans were being proceeded with? Could he not be more precise about when building is to start?
§ Mr. BrowneI appreciate that this is an important project and that it ought to be proceeded with at the earliest date, 1000 but having regard to all the circumstances, it is impossible to envisage a start before 1960 to 1961.
