HC Deb 07 May 1956 vol 552 c802
3. Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Minister of Health what progress has been made with the Whitley Council negotiations regarding the rates of remuneration to chemists for making up prescriptions and if he will make a statement

Mr. Turton

The claim made by the chemists is still under consideration

Mr. Johnson

Can my right hon. Friend say whether it is reasonable to expect that, as a result of these discussions with the Association, economies will be effected in the running of the National Health Service without in any way impairing its efficiency?

Mr. Turton

It would be unwise to make any forecast while these discussions are proceeding
