22. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, in view of the action taken by Pakistan in declaring itself a Republic. if he will forthwith introduce legislation to define the constitutional changes resulting from that action.

I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the Pakistan (Consequential Provision) Bill, which was available yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Hughes

Is the Minister aware that I thought he would give that Answer? Will he say why this Bill singles out for special treatment the law of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, as compared—
