HC Deb 07 March 1956 vol 549 c2079

Standing Order 220, line 3, leave out "(Finance Consolidation)" and insert "(Loans)".

Standing Order 220, line 4, leave out "1912" and insert "1955".

Standing Order 220, line 11, leave out "(Finance Consolidation)" and insert "(Loans)" and leave out "1912" and insert "1955".

Standing Order 220, line 89, leave out "(Finance Consolidation)" and insert "(Loans)" and leave out "1912" and insert "1955".

Standing Order 224, line 20, at end insert: (2) The Examiners may inquire into compliance with Standing Orders 62 to 68 at any time after the Order for the examination of the Bill.

The first four Amendments on the Paper are of a drafting nature. The Amendment to Standing Order 224, dealing with Hybrid Bills, would enable the Examiners to inquire at a single sitting into compliance with all the Standing Orders which are applicable to the Bill, instead of having to hold a second meeting to inquire into Standing Orders 62 to 68. The Amendment would remove an anomaly which arises from applying to Hybrid Bills a procedure which is appropriate for Private Bills.

Question put and agreed to.
