§ 50. Mr. Donnellyasked the Prime Minister if he will now state the Government's policy on broadcasting in anticipation of Parliamentary debates.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Report of the Select Committee, which was published last Friday, is at present under consideration. A little time will be needed before a statement can be made.
§ Mr. DonnellyIs the Prime Minister aware that, within its terms of reference, the Report of the Select Committee could not have made more clear what the Committee thought of the 14-day rule, and that in fact it is really a lot of mumbo-jumbo? Does the right hon. Gentleman not think that it is in the best interests of the House to throw that mumbo-jumbo through the window?
§ The Prime MinisterIt is in the best interests of the House that I have a little consultation with hon. Members as to what they wish to be done. That we propose to do before we make any further move.
