asked the Minister of Defence if he will obtain from the United Kingdom North Atlantic Treaty Organisation representative a statement of the length of compulsory national service in each of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries.

Yes, Sir. As the Answer consists of a table, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Would the Minister include in the statement which he proposes to publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the intentions of the West German Government as to the period of national service?

I do not think that I can do that at present, because I have already prepared the table, but if the right hon. Gentleman wants to know some facts about the matter I will certainly do my best to inform him.
