HC Deb 26 July 1956 vol 557 cc607-8
3. Mr. F. Willey

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a further statement on the use being made of the Government grain silos.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Mr. D. Heathcoat Amory)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 16th July to my hon. Friend the Member for Devizes (Mr. Pott).

Mr. Willey

I am obliged to the right hon. Gentleman for that reply, which I have studied. Can he say in which of these premises drying facilities will be available?

Mr. Amory

There are drying facilities in all of them. One of them is a drying depot only, and the other silos have drying facilities.

Mr. Willey

Will these facilities continue to be available?

Mr. Amory

The understanding with the tenants was that the silos would be available for grain storage and drying.
