§ 23. Mr. E. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for War the conditions governing the payment of a bounty to men joining the Territorial Army; and what steps are taken to ensure that these conditions are fully understood.
§ Mr. HeadBounties are payable to members of the Territorial Army who carry out prescribed training. The full conditions are set out in Territorial Army Regulations which are available in all units.
§ Mr. JohnsonIs my right hon. Friend aware that the steps taken to make known the conditions of this bounty are in many cases not full and adequate, and give rise to a lot of unnecessary resentment? If he is not aware of it, could he look into the matter?
§ Mr. HeadThe conditions are laid down in Regulations. It is the duty of units to make this information known to the men concerned. If the hon. Member can give me specific examples, I will look into them.
