Dr. HillIn 1950, 7,128 telephones were installed; in 1955, 12,263. At present 10,606 applications are outstanding, and 3,446 either in course of being met or under investigation.
§ Mr. JohnsonIs my right hon. Friend aware that this great improvement has given considerable satisfaction to the people of Manchester, and may we expect that it will be maintained?
Dr. HillA great deal of work is going on now and more is planned for new starts this year in the Manchester area.
