HC Deb 27 February 1956 vol 549 cc830-1
36. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Health whether he will make a statement regarding dental and other charges in view of the recommendations of the Guillebaud Committee.

Mr. Turton

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made on 25th January.

Mr. Blenkinsop

As I suspect that that statement gave no answer to the Question but dealt merely with the receipt of the Guillebaud Report and accepted its advice in principle, will not the Minister at least say that he is examining these proposals and will be in a position to make a fuller statement shortly?

Mr. Turton

I thought the hon. Gentleman was aware of what I said on 25th January. I said that I would examine these proposals in consultation with the interests concerned. That process of consultation is still continuing.

Mr. Blenkinsop

Can the Minister say when he hopes to be in a position to make a fuller statement?

Mr. Turton

Not yet.
