Mr. Gowerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what number of farms in Wales have been connected to electricity in the past year; what proportion of farms in Wales were so connected during the past year; and how this proportion compares with the proportion so connected in England.
§ Mr. NugentI understand that 3,051 farms in Wales were connected to a mains supply during the year ended 31st December, 1955. This represents 6.9 per cent. of the farms considered capable of being connected to a mains supply compared with 5.4 per cent. in England.
