HC Deb 23 February 1956 vol 549 cc558-9
34. Mr. de Freitas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department for what purpose he has kept the passport belonging to Victor George Sparkes since 7th October, 1955.

Major Lloyd-George

Mr. Sparkes left a passport and certain other documents at the Home Office on 7th October, 1955, in connection with certain representations which he had made to me. His representations related, among other things, to his movements during 1950, and it has been necessary to retain the passport in order to examine the entries for this period. Careful inquiries are being made into Mr. Sparkes's representations, and the passport and other documents will be returned to him as soon as I have completed my consideration of the case. He has not represented that he desires to have the passport for travel abroad.
