Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to consolidate with amendments certain enactments relating to police forces in Scotland and to the execution of warrants in the border counties of England and Scotland, it is expedient— A. to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of—

  1. (a) any increase attributable to the provisions of the said Act of the present Session in the sums payable out of moneys so provided under any enactment providing for the payment of grants towards the expenses of police authorities and joint police committees in Scotland; and
  2. (b)any expenses incurred by the Secretary of State under any provision of the said Act of the present Session empowering him—
    1. (i) to provide courses of instruction in matters relating to police service for constables of police forces maintained under any provision of the said Act, and for that purpose to maintain central training institutions (including instructing and administrative staff and land, buildings and equipment); or
    2. (ii) to make arrangements for the attendance of constables of such police forces at courses provided otherwise than as aforesaid;
and B. to authorise the payment into the Exchequer of any sums received by the Secretary of State from police authorities or joint police committees in Scotland, or deducted by him from moneys otherwise payable by him to any such authority or committee, by virtue of any provision of the said Act of the present Session.—[Mr. J.
