§ Mr. AttleeMay I ask the Lord Privy Seal whether he has any statement to make on business?
§ The Lord Privy Seal (Mr. Harry Crookshank)Yes, Sir. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 26th October, my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer will open his Supplementary Budget.
On Thursday, 27th October, and on Friday, 28th October, general debate will take place on the Budget Resolutions and on the Financial and Economic Situation.
The business previously announced for today remains unchanged. I will announce later the dates when we propose to bring forward the business which has been postponed to make way for the Supplementary Budget.
§ Mr. AttleeIs it intended that we should conclude the debate on the Budget in these three days? We do not know what its contents will be and I should like to give a warning that we might want extra time.
§ Mr. CrookshankI note that.
§ Mr. AttleeMay I also ask whether the right hon. Gentleman will make arrangements for us to have a debate on National Service next week and whether he will bear in mind that we would like a debate fairly soon on Cyprus?
§ Mr. CrookshankI take note of these suggestions, too, but Thursday is the day when I shall be announcing future business. This is only this week's.
§ Mr. WoodburnIn view of the right hon. Gentleman's statement, that he will consider finding time for the business which has been displaced, may we take it that the debate on Scottish education will not be unduly delayed?
§ Mr. CrookshankIt will not be very much.
