§ 31. Mr. E. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what provision is made for the education of children of persons employed at Her Majesty's Embassy to the Federal Republic of Germany.
§ Lord John HopeThese children have the use of the facilities provided by the British Forces Education Services in Germany.
§ Mr. JohnsonIs it not a fact that next spring the Army intends to charge very high fees to all except Army parents who are sending their children to its school? Does he appreciate that that will put a very heavy burden on the parents of the children at the Embassy, and will he consult the Secretary of State for War to see if that plan can be stopped?
§ Lord John HopeI will look into that, Sir.
§ Mr. StracheyIs the hon. Gentleman aware that these facilities, though admirable, are already overcrowded, and will he look into the possibility of extending them both for Forces and other children? It is very important.
