§ 6. Mr. Danceasked the Postmaster-General what progress is being made with the building of the automatic telephone 1822 exchange in Redditch and with the recabling of the area.
Dr. HillWe are planning to start building the new automatic exchange towards the end of next year and to open it in 1959. New cable schemes will be completed at the same time. Meanwhile, we are extending the present manual exchange.
