§ 47. Mr. Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether he will now invite a Parliamentary delegation from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to visit this country as guests of Her Majesty's Government.
§ The Prime MinisterI understand that you, Mr. Speaker, and my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor have addressed invitations to the two Chairmen of the Supreme Soviet for a visit by a Soviet delegation to this country in July next year, as the guests of Parliament.
§ Mr. LewisIs the Prime Minister aware that the invitation will be warmly applauded by everyone in this country, and may we also hope that for once we may have some decent weather so that the delegation can see this country in all its glory?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonMay I join with my hon. Friend in expressing our pleasure that this invitation should be made? I only rise to ask whether the Prime Minister will try to make special arrangements whereby our visitors can come to the Gallery of the House of Commons and witness the functioning of our Parliamentary institutions.
§ The Prime MinisterThat is very much in mind, and it is actually on the programme which we are putting forward.
