§ The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation (Mr. John Boyd-Carpenter)Land plans have been prepared and negotiations will be opened shortly with landowners for the acquisition of land on 1017 the three-mile length of the by-pass between Bridge Road and Broomin Green Lane.
§ Mr. MaddanWhile thanking the Minister of Transport for that news of progress, which will be very much welcomed by everyone living in the neighbourhood of this very dangerous road, may I ask him to press ahead with the preparation of land plans for the rest of the by-pass and the acquisition of the land with the greatest speed?
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI know my hon. Friend's views, which he has expressed on several occasions, as to the importance of this by-pass, and to a very considerable extent I share them.
