HC Deb 02 November 1955 vol 545 c1004
17. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Postmaster-General what evidence has been given to his Department that certain members of the public have discovered a method of using public call boxes for making telephone calls without paying the charge.

Dr. Hill

I can assure my hon. Friend that the Post Office is well informed on this problem. Several people have been prosecuted for this type of fraud recently.

Colonel Gomme-Duncan

Can my right hon. Friend assure the House that the rumour that this comes from Aberdeen is quite wrong?

Mr. W. R. Williams

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what evidence he has that certain members of the public have discovered a method of using the public telephone for a whole evening for a charge of 3d.?
