asked the Minister of Food when the Report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Slaughter-houses in England and Wales will be published.

The Committee's report has not yet been submitted to my right hon. Friend. I understand that the Committee is still receiving evidence.

Mr. Willey

Will the hon. Gentleman, who doubtless appreciates the need for this report as well as anybody else, impress upon the Committee that we really must have it as soon as possible?

Dr. Hill

I share the hon. Member's desire for this report as early as possible, but the hon. Member will appreciate that there have been certain changes in the industry, including the emergence of the Fatstock Marketing Corporation, which are leading to a revision of the provisional conclusions.
