HC Deb 21 June 1955 vol 542 c1127
33. Mr. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much was spent on the provision of new hospital accommodation in north Ayrshire in the last three years; and how much it is proposed to expend on this purpose this year.

Mr. J. N. Browne

A new out-patient department at Kilmarnock Infirmary was completed in 1953 at a cost of £30,000, and new nurses' home in 1954 at a cost of £18,000 at Glenafton Sanatorium. The area is relatively well served by existing hospitals and no expenditure is contemplated this year on new hospital accommodation as such, apart from some expenditure from endowment funds on operating theatre provision at Kilmarnock Infirmary.
