HC Deb 15 June 1955 vol 542 c588
43. Mr. Russell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when it is proposed to ratify the Conventions on Customs Formalities for the Temporary Importation of Private Road Motor Vehicles and Tourism signed at New York on 4th June, 1954; and how many signatories have ratified these conventions up to date.

Mr. Turton

The Customs Conventions on the Temporary Importation of Private Road Vehicles and on Tourism, and the Additional Protocol relating to the Importation of Tourist Publicity Documents and Material, were laid before Parliament on 7th June. Only the Additional Protocol involves legislation, and for this the necessary statutory Instrument and Regulations will be submitted in the near future. When this legislation is completed Her Majesty's Government will be able to ratify. One signatory has ratified already.
