HC Deb 15 June 1955 vol 542 c582
24. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what steps have been taken to give effect to the recommendation of the Singapore accident inquiry that steps should be taken to ensure that marks are placed on the outside of all fuselages to show clearly points of easy access for rescuers in the event of accidents.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

British Overseas Airways Corporation has already marked break-in points on its aircraft. I am discussing with other British operators standardisation of these markings. I have also instructed my officers to seek to raise this matter before the International Civil Aviation Organisation at the next convenient opportunity.
