HC Deb 26 July 1955 vol 544 c978
18. Mr. Knox Cunningham

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government to what extent it is the practice of his Department when envelopes are in use for the first time to send them out with economy labels containing the recipient's name and address affixed thereto; and whether in the interests of economy he will take steps to stop such a practice.

Mr. Deedes

Economy labels are not put on envelopes sent out for the first time except to utilise otherwise unusable stocks.
