§ 34. Sir I. Fraserasked the Minister of Health the cost to the National Health Service last year of supplying medicine bottles; and whether he will institute a system of returnable deposits to effect economy.
§ Miss Hornsby-SmithChemists are remunerated for supplying all containers, including medicine bottles, by a flat rate payment for each prescription dispensed. The approximate cost in England and Wales during 1954 was £1,138,000. A system of returnable deposits has often been considered, but not thought practicable.
