HC Deb 20 July 1955 vol 544 c359
17. Mr. Dodds

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress has been made in developing Gibraltar's tourist industry.

The Secretary of State for the Colonies (Mr. Alan Lennox-Boyd)

Substantial progress has been made. More ships and aircraft are calling at Gibraltar this year. Various improvements have been made in local facilities for changing money and in the arrangements for sight-seeing. There has been a relaxation of visa requirements for foreigners. More tourist literature has been prepared and other improvements are under consideration.
