HC Deb 13 July 1955 vol 543 c1907
10. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Defence what orders are given to members of the Armed Forces to salute when passing the Cenotaph in Whitehall.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

There is nothing in general Service Regulations covering saluting when passing the Cenotaph. The Brigade of Guards, however, have their own special orders, which apply to the Household Brigade only, for all ranks to salute when passing the Cenotaph.
