HC Deb 28 February 1955 vol 537 cc1700-1
30. Mrs. White

asked the Minister of Health what progress has been made with the Oakwood Park Colony for mental defectives at Conway.

Mr. Iain Macleod

Adaptations costing£62,000, to provide accommodation for 184 patients and the necessary staff, began on 17th December last and are expected to be completed by December next.

Mrs. White

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what proportion of the accommodation is for children and what proportion is for adults?

Mr. Macleod

Not without notice. In the end it is intended to accommodate up to 500 or 600, but perhaps I can write and let the hon. Lady know what proportion of that number will be children.
