HC Deb 28 February 1955 vol 537 c1689
1. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Supply the estimated production of mustard gas in the United Kingdom for the year 1954; how many storage depots exist; and whether production is being maintained at an adequate rate.

The Minister of Supply (Mr. Selwyn Lloyd)

It would not be in the public interest to disclose the information for which the hon. Member asks.

Mr. Hale

Is the right hon. and learned Gentleman aware that if the information has not been disclosed, the mustard gas has, and that it has been causing some alarm to the people of Cambridgeshire rather than the people of Siberia; and in those circumstances does not he think that those people who have sustained injury should have some explanation giving the reason?

Mr. Lloyd

I think I understand the incident to which the hon. Member has referred. He really should address Questions about that to the Secretary of State for Air.
