HC Deb 28 February 1955 vol 537 cc1716-7
48. Captain Kerby

asked the Attorney- General whether he will set up a commit tee to consider what amendments are necessary in the law in order to secure that criminal charges are always heard in public court except when the court, on application being publicly made to it, otherwise orders.

The Attorney-General

No, Sir. I have no evidence suggesting that any such amendment of the law is desirable, and I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served by appointing a committee to study the question.
