§ Mr. F. MacleanI beg to move, in page 81, line 7, at the end, to insert:
and includes his successor or any person for the time being exercising his or his successor's functions.The purpose of this addition is to provide for the eventuality of the death, or the posting away, of the convening officer whilst the court-martial which he has convened is still in progress. Adding these words makes it possible for his successor, or locum tenens, to exercise his functions after his departure, or in his absence.
