HC Deb 10 February 1955 vol 536 c2057
45. Mr. Dodds

asked the Prime Minister what decision has been reached in the discussions concerning the proposal to increase the salaries of junior Ministers.

The Prime Minister (Sir Winston Churchill)

It may well be that there is general agreement that the salaries of junior Ministers are inadequate, but I am not at present in a position to make any further statement.

Mr. Dodds

Will the Prime Minister bear in mind that this matter has been under consideration for a considerable time? A fortnight ago he then said it was being dealt with as a matter of urgency. Since I do not want to cause unnecessary trouble in the Cabinet, I hope that he will be able to make a decision before long.
