HC Deb 08 February 1955 vol 536 cc1726-7
34. Mr. Vane

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfied that every acre of the 27,585 acres of land in the neighbourhood of Warcop, Westmorland, Durham, and Yorkshire, over which he has taken powers for military training to be carried out is, in fact, necessary for this purpose.

Mr. Head

We are going to give up 1,585 acres as soon as they have been thoroughly searched for explosives.
