HC Deb 02 February 1955 vol 536 c1073
21. Sir A. Braithwaite

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what improvement there has been in the supply of telephones through the Hatch End Exchange; and if he will give the comparable figures for a year ago.

Mr. Gammans

Eight hundred and twenty telephones have been connected in Hatch End during the past 12 months and the number of outstanding applications has fallen from 641 to 323. All but 51 of these are in course of being met or are under inquiry.

Sir A. Braithwaite

May I express the thanks of my constituents for this speedup, especially as there has been a considerable delay in the past?
