HC Deb 15 December 1955 vol 547 cc1375-6
25. Mr. G. Jeger

asked the Minister of Education whether he is yet in a position to give a decision about the proposal to close the Snaith Church of England School.

Mr. Vosper

Not yet. This proposal raises some difficult issues which my right hon. Friend is still considering.

Mr. Jeger

Will the hon. Gentleman bear in mind that discussion of this question has been going on since July, and there is considerable local feeling in Snaith, which is an old township, that the junior school there should not be entirely abolished?

Mr. Vosper

A statutory procedure is involved in this case. It was only last month that my hon. Friend received the local authority's comments on the objections raised, but he will endeavour to reach a decision quickly.
