HC Deb 14 December 1955 vol 547 cc1192-3
51. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in a position to make a statement about future constitutional progress in Cyprus.

65. Mrs. L. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what are the results of recent negotiations in Cyprus; and whether he will make a statement on the constitutional future of the island.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I cannot yet add to the statement which I made in the course of the debate on Cyprus on 5th December.

Mr. E. Fletcher

Will the Minister bear in mind, as I am sure is the case, that among hon. Members on this side of the House there is keen anxiety that the House should not rise for the Christmas Recess without a further statement by the Minister?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I am sure that question was heard by others than myself.
