32. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what liaison exists between His Department and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation in respect of road reconstruction plans that involve the demolition of houses.

Mr. Deedes

When such proposals are under consideration, the two Departments keep in close touch at all stages.

Mr. Sorensen

In view of the possibility of extensive road development in many parts of the country, am I right in assuming that there is a permanent central liaison committee of some kind?

Mr. Deedes

No, but when the proposal involves both my right hon. Friend and my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport, the two Departments keep in touch over the proposal throughout.
