asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will state, at the latest convenient date, the average prices per cwt. at which farmers are selling malting barley and feeding barley, respectively; and the current average wholesale price for barley meal.

Owing to the length of the Reply, I will with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Reports are received from Bristol, Hull, Liverpool and London at weekly intervals giving the average prices prevailing in the market during the course of the preceding week. The prices quoted for malting barley and feeding barley are ex-farm prices paid to growers and exclude merchants' commission. The following prices per cwt. were reported for the week ended 7th December.
