§ Mr. PagetIn the course of my speech yesterday in the Cyprus debate I said that in the circumstances that existed there I thought that the power of deportation taken by the Governor was both reasonable and necessary. Judge my surprise, therefore, when I read, in the OFFICIAL REPORT this morning, in the account of my speech:
The second power, which I regard as insane and unreasonable, is deportation …"—[OFFICIAL REPORT, 5th December, 1955; Vol. 547, c. 126.]I should be grateful if the necessary amendment could be made.
§ Mr. SpeakerI greatly regret this error and will take steps to make sure that the necessary correction is made.
