HC Deb 06 December 1955 vol 547 c178
14. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to be in a position to make a statement on the future of the National Land Fund.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make any statement.

Mr. Robinson

Is the Chancellor aware that it is particularly disappointing, in view of his well-known interest in the arts and in amenity considerations, that he has not been able to make better use of this Fund? Can he at least confirm that the matter is still under consideration?

Mr. Butler

Certainly, it is a matter which causes us all a great deal of interest, and, of course, it does look a very tempting Fund.
