asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the percentage increase of wages since 1946 and what has been the percentage increase in income derived from rent, dividends and interest since 1946.

Between 1946 and 1954 wages increased by 89 per cent. and personal receipts of rent, dividends and interest by 30 per cent. Figures are not yet available for 1955.
