§ 13. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the average weekly rate at which National Savings Certificates have been encashed since the beginning of 1955; and what is the corresponding figure for 1954.
§ Mr. R. A. Butler
The average weekly total of National Savings Certificates encashed during the first 16 weeks of 1955 was £24 million. For the same period in 1954 the figure was £25 million.
§ Lieut.-Colonel Lipton
