HC Deb 26 April 1955 vol 540 cc762-3
53. Mr. Fenner Brockway

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will make arrangements under which men on being discharged ill or disabled from the Army shall always be provided with a form authorising that their case histories be sent to their local doctor if this is desired by them.

Mr. Head

The necessary information is already provided to the Ministry of Health for transmission to the civilian doctor in the case of individuals leaving the Army on medical grounds. I believe, however, that the hon. Member has in mind the case of a soldier who left the Army on other grounds but who also had a medical history. I agree that similar arrangements should be made for these men also, and I am arranging for this to be done.
