asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what proportions of the food supplies of the United Kingdom were home-produced in 1938, 1951 and 1954.

Mr. Amory

On a calorie basis the figures are 31 per cent. and 40 per cent. for the pre-war period and 1951, respectively. Figures for 1954 are not yet available. Estimates on a constant value basis are 36 per cent. for the pre-war period and 50 per cent. both for 1950–51 and for 1953–54.
