HC Deb 06 April 1955 vol 539 cc1160-1
37. Major Wall

asked the Minister of Defence whether, in view of the shortage of instructors in the Cadet Forces, he will arrange for men who have had previous service in cadet units and have completed their two years' National Service to carry out their remaining three years' liability in the Cadet Forces instead of in the Royal Naval Supplementary Reserve, the Territorial Army or the Royal Air Force Reserve.

The Minister of Defence (Mr. Harold Macmillan)

Except for aircrew, National Service men of all three Services may already volunteer to carry out their part-time service with Cadet Forces.
