§
Lords Amendment: In page 3, line 24, leave out from "been" to "that" in line 25, and insert:
if those provisions had at that time had effect in relation thereto".
§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (Mr. W. F. Deedes)I beg to move, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."
§ Mr. SpeakerI should point out to bon. Members that some of these Amendments involve matters of Privilege. I propose to direct the attention of the House to such cases by announcing the one word "Privilege" after the Clerk has read the Amendment. If the House then agrees with the Amendment, I will have the requisite Special Entry made in the Journals of the House.
§ Mr. DeedesThis is a drafting Amendment, designed to rectify an obvious mistake. The intention is that the modifications set out in the First Schedule to the Bill should affect all claims on the £300 million fund, whether or not the claims have already been determined. The calculations have, in fact, already been made, and in many cases agreed with those concerned.
§ Question put, and agreed to.
