§ 17. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when a new training manual will be available for the Civil Defence Corps.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeAll the existing Civil Defence manuals and handbooks are being revised to bring their contents up to date and to make them more suitable for use in connection with the new arrangements for Civil Defence training. New pamphlets dealing with nuclear weapons, chemical warfare and firefighting should be available early in 1955; others are being prepared and will be available later.
§ Mr. H. HyndWhile thanking the Minister for that information, which will give great satisfaction to the Civil Defence Corps, may I ask him if he will push on as quickly as possible, in view of the fact that the present sense of unreality about the training is one of the biggest disincentives to recruiting?
§ Mr. Noel-BakerWill the Minister arrange for the new manuals to be published?
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeAs soon as we get them ready.
