asked the President of the Board of Trade to what extent Anglo-Swiss trade is affected by the fact that Switzerland is not a contracting party to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

Very little. I am happy to be able to say that, though neither country is bound to the obligations of the General Agreement in respect of the other, we are both, in practice, following fairly closely the principles of the G.A.T.T. in relation to our mutual trade, in a manner which my hon. Friend would, no doubt, desire.
