HC Deb 02 November 1954 vol 532 c181
Mr. Snow

I desire to present a Petition to this honourable House on behalf of 563 of my constituents predominantly but not exclusively resident in the Rushall Ward in the Aldridge district of the Lichfield and Tamworth Parliamentary Division. My constituents feel that a grave injustice is being suffered by old-age pensioners in particular and pensioners in general, and they feel that the date of any increase in those pensions should not be subject to political considerations and interest. The Petition ends: Wherefore your petitioners humbly pray that steps may be taken immediately to remedy the situation, and that machinery should be set up within the Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance for a constant review of the real value of pensions, and your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray. To lie upon the Table.
